C.S.C.S Certified

B.S in Exercise Science

Since a young age John has been involved with athletics. John played ice hockey on the South Side suburbs of Chicago since the age of 6. He would play hockey all the way up through high school as well as wrestle until leaving for the Marine Corps in 2005.

From 2005-2009 John served as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps serving two combat deployments to Iraq. While in the Marines John was a squad leader in charge of his squad’s wellbeing including their physical readiness. After his service in the Marines John returned home to the Chicago suburbs to work as a firefighter / EMT for four years. During John’s time in the Marines and as a firefighter he saw firsthand the importance of physical fitness and readiness.

While John returned home he suffered from the after effects of his service in Iraq. He began engaging in unhealthy behaviors and gained a considerable amount of weight. January 2012 he said enough was enough and decided it was time for a life change. John lost over 70 lbs within a 6 -8 month timeframe and was accepted into college. While in school John competed in college hockey and track and field.

John has a B.S. in Exercise Science and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist as well as a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His experiences coaching ranges from college teams, high school teams, group fitness, injury rehab, and every day athletes (people) looking to get the edge on life. During his free time he likes to hike with his dog, play ice hockey, snowboard, and practice his craft of strength and conditioning.
